Getting the Facebook Ads report in Telegram every day
4 min read
Opening Ads Manager every day and copying out the same five numbers is repeat work. It can be set up once and then forgotten.
What the report does
You say which ad account, which metrics and at what hour you need them. After that a finished message lands in the Telegram chat at that hour every day.
The message is laid out to be read on a phone: the numbers are in order, separated by emoji if you want them. There is no computer to open, no account to log into and no filter to set.
Which metrics come out
The list holds 67 ad metrics split into nine groups: basic, unique, traffic and links, engagement, video, sales, conversions, catalog and additional.
There is no need to cram all of them into one message, so there are three modes:
- Automatic — the five best-fitting metrics, based on the campaign objective
- Full pack — the automatic set plus CTR, CPM, frequency, reach and unique clicks; in a video campaign Hook Rate and Hold Rate as well
- Custom — you tick what you need from the list yourself
The automatic mode is enough for most, and it takes the campaign type into account itself — a lead campaign gets one set of metrics, a sales campaign another.
When and how detailed
The period is today, yesterday, the week or the month. For a weekly report you give the day of the week, for a monthly one the day of the month. Pick day 29-31 and the report is skipped in short months — the system says so in advance.
Detail comes at three levels: brief (aggregate totals only), detailed (each campaign separately plus aggregate totals) and detailed + groups (the ad sets inside a campaign too). The detailed layouts only work on single-day reports — otherwise the weekly message stretches out past the point of being readable.
The report can cover all campaigns or only the ones you picked. The heading of the message can be fitted to you as well.
Telegram, Google Sheets or both
The report is not limited to Telegram. It can be written into a Google Sheets spreadsheet as well, and both channels can be switched on together.
The spreadsheet has two write modes. The first is a plain append: each report lands as a new row at the end, so the history over time builds itself. The second is template mode: you already have a spreadsheet, and each metric has to go into a specific column, in the row matching the date. Template mode works only with single-day reports.
Adding CRM sales
With Bitrix24 or amoCRM connected, a sales section can be added at the end of the report: deal statistics for the selected period. Showing it broken out by funnel stage is possible too.
One detail matters: these numbers are counted across the whole CRM, not just this campaign. They sit next to the ad metrics, but they are not the direct result of them.
If the ads stop
A balance alert can be added to the report as well. It fires in two cases: when the ads have stopped (the payment failed or the limit was reached) and when the unpaid debt has grown too high.
Facebook bills the spend afterwards, so there is always an unpaid debt sitting there. You set the limit; as the debt nears 80 per cent of that limit an early warning arrives, and when it goes over, a repeat message.
This alert works only when the Telegram channel is on — a row written into a spreadsheet wakes nobody.
